From Ageism to Elder Abuse

This event will tackle a highly important issue that has remained relatively camouflaged from the public eye, elder abuse.  Although elder abuse has been on the rise, it has not received nearly as much attention as it should.  We not only see elder abuse as a direct result of ageism, but as one of the worst forms of ageist exploitation.

Our distinguished panel will be facilitated by Bobbie Sackman, MSW, Former Director of Public Policy, LiveOn NY.

  • Sergeant Joseph Ahohan, NYPD Chief of Department Domestic Violence Investigations
  • Jason Myles Clark, Assistant Attorney General, Harlem Regional Office of Office of New York State Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman
  • Laura J. Ehrich, Associate State Director, AARP New York
  • Martha H. Pollack, LCSW-R, JASA Manhattan District Director & Director of Elder Abuse Programs
  • Victoria Thornton, Volunteer Coordinator, LiveOn NY Senior Medicare Patrol
