New Data Tools for Tenant Organizing

Come to one of three trainings:

Thursday, March 1st 6:30-8:30 at ANHD, 50 Broad St. Suite 1402, Manhattan

The Association for Neighborhood & Housing Development (ANHD) and JustFix.nyc invite you to a training on new housing data tools to make your organizing strategy more efficient and effective! Organizers can use these tools together to identify and research buildings for outreach, base building, and campaigns.

ANHD’s DAP District Reports are monthly updates on harassment and displacement risk in rent stabilized buildings by Community District. Up-to-date info on building sales, HPD complaints and violations, DOB complaints, and DOB permit applications can show you the highest-risk buildings in your community district to prioritize outreach.

The JustFix.nyc Who Owns What project is a new resource for community organizers and tenant leaders to demystify property ownership and shell company networks across New York City. The site utilizes a database of 250,000 building registrations to connect the dots and discover other properties that your landlord might own or be associated with. Use this tool to discover what buildings in your neighborhood to organize in, what communities your landlord might be targeting, and how your building might be losing affordable units.

This is an open invitation – please share these trainings with colleagues and friends who are interested in using these tools for outreach and advocacy!
